2. COMMON CHARACTERISTICS
Some common assumptions are made for these implementations:
- The display format is chosen to be 80 columns x 24 rows
of characters, except for the last mode which is 40 x 24.
- Each character is an 8 x 8 dot size with no spaces
between adjacent rows and columns.
- The character generator to generate dot patterns for each
character scan line is a 2k x 8 ROM, in this case a
Synertek SY2316B.
- A 4k-byte Video Display RAM is utilized to permit
slightly more than two complete pages of text data to be
stored.
